It’s interesting that indie filmmakers aren’t the only ones grumbling about distribution and how crummy theatrical exhibition can be! The owner of the Dallas Mavericks (Basketball team!), Landmark Theaters and Magnolia Pictures is Mark Cuban, who has a reputation as a bit of a maverick himself. He’s offering a job to anyone who can “fix” the movie theater problem! Check out his blog and take a look at some of the awesome (also silly, crazy, etc) ideas folks have come up with. The one thing that’s certain in all this? The distribution of filmed programming is going to change — big time — the old models are broken, and the shards are on the ground for the archeologists!
