Congratulations to Some Indiepix Pals!
Much to my delight, two very talented filmmakers who I am happy to call my friends made it into Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 NEW FACES OF INDEPENDENT FILM issue. They are Mike Tully (director of Cocaine Angel , who also writes a very entertaining blog for Indiewire, and Alex Karpovsky, the director of the fine faux-mockumentary The Hole Story . I have know Tully for years, since we were both VDR hacks writing video copy for Muze. He’s one of the funniest, warmest, most engaging people I’ve ever met, and it doesn’t hurt that he bears a striking resemblance to Gael Garcia Bernal. As for Alex Karpovsky, that guy just cracks me up. I think he is incredibly talented, interesting, and easy to talk to. I met him when he came to my Distribution panel at the Newport Film Festival . Congrats you guys! Looking forward to seeing your next projects!
