The best of the fest- IFF BOSTON
I have to commend Adam Roffman and his team; IFF Boston is a festival with amazing programming which caters to regular cinephiles and filmmakers rather than kissing the ass of industry. It’s truly a festival about good films and the community of people who (hint, hint Mike Tully) max out all 18 of their credit cards and paint houses in order to make some amazing, low-budget films. In fact, I must admit, after a year on the circuit, I got that jaded sense of “oh, well i’ll just get a screener, i don’t need to actually see movies here!”. But, from the getgo, and inspired by my intrepid filmmaker/programmer/Indiepix consultant friend Joe Pacheco, I ended up seeing a LOT of movies, 80% of which were excellent.
