IndiePix Acquires “No Sweat” — DVD Feb 23
17 December 2009 — NY, NY: IndiePix Films announced today the acquisition of distribution rights to “No Sweat”, directed by acclaimed documentary filmmaker Amie Williams. The glamour of the fashion industry often blinds the public to the common reality behind the scenes: dark and dingy factories where women and children sit hunched over their machines, elbow-to-elbow. Enter SweatX and American Apparel, two hip, new clothing manufacturers in downtown Los Angeles committed to creating “sweat-free” clothing by ensuring livable wages, benefits, and safe environments. No Sweat investigates whether these two very different companies can survive in the tight economic conditions that have sent so much of their competition overseas and which one will succeed. IndiePix will manage the distribution of this film in broadcast, DVD, digital and new media markets worldwide. For more information on this title, check out the film’s website. For information about the distribution of this title, please contact Alanna Raben, IndiePix at alanna@indiepix.net and include the film name in the subject line of your email. The deal was negotiated by Mark DeFrancis of IndiePix and director Amie Williams.
