FREE Tribeca Event: Future of Film
Tribeca invites you to the first in a monthly series of conversations exploring the Future of Film, held at The Varick Room at Tribeca Cinemas.
Similar to Tribeca’s Future of Film blog, the discussion series will focus on important topics of the day, beginning with digital filmmaking, web storytelling, film funding, theatrical innovations, actors as directors, and more.
This month’s topic: As the digital revolution changes filmmaking as we know it, a complicated and often divisive question has emerged: What—if anything—is lost when filmmakers transition from film to digital? Can film survive the digital future?*
Cinematographer Reed Morano (Frozen River, For Ellen, The Magic of Belle Isle) and picture and sound editor Pete Conlin (founder of Sixteen19, the first mobile post production company focused solely on digitally acquired features and TV series) will debate the merits of their respective mediums, followed by an audience Q&A.
Afterwards, network, mingle and continue the conversation with a drink from the (cash) bar.
The event is free, but space is limited. RSVP today!
