$200,000 for 3 Minutes? Sign Us Up!

The Focus Forward Filmmaker Challenge is giving away a whopping $200,000 in cash prizes to the top five three-minute nonfiction film entries surrounding the theme of invention and innovation. You have until August 23rd to submit your film in the hopes of the $100,000 grand prize.

First announced at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, the challenge is looking for documentary shorts that tell stories about innovation and invention that will bring change for the better. Following in line with the company vision for highlighting exception people and world-changing ideas that are impacting the course of human development and changing our lives for the better.

A selection of the films will be distributed and shown all over the world and up to 100 semi-finalists will be featured on their website alongside works by celebrated filmmakers like Jessica Yu, Lucy Walker, and Victor Kossakovsky. The Jury Prize finalists will be announced in December and the award winners will be announced at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.

Filmmakers are allowed to submit as many films as they like as long as they meet the requirements listed on the official rules: so go submit!
