Kickstarter: “I Am Big Bird”
The raving success that was Being Elmo, a documentary following the man behind the puppet, brought into focus how little we know about our childhood idols. From animated characters such as Tony the Tiger, Bugs Bunny, and Tweety Bird to the physical characters like Elmo, these imagined entities have played larger rolls in the lives of so many generations than one could dare to count. The task of unmasking these beings comes at a heavy cost of expectation, but the payoff if executed correctly is one worth every penny spent and every minute watched.
Cue Copper Pot Pictures and their vision to bring yet another character we’ve grown to know and love into the limelight: Big Bird. Sesame Street, filmed right here in the state of New York, remains one of the longest running child programs that both teaches great lessons and holds great memories. Copper Pot Pictures has launched a Kickstarter campaign to get their film, I Am Big Bird, from concept to completion and you can be a part of their success story!

About the film:
I Am Big Bird is a feature-length documentary about Caroll Spinney, who has been Sesame Street’s Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch since 1969… and at 78 years old, he has no intention of stopping.
I Am Big Bird will peel away the instances in Caroll’s life that inspired his creation of characters that influenced generations of kids. As the yellow feathers yield to grey hair, it is the man, not the puppet, who will steal your heart.
