Wisconsin is looking more and more like the place to be tomorrow through May 6 for some great indie titles.

Join the Wisconsin Union and enjoy a heavy hitting line-up of critically acclaimed indie films. All films are free in The Marquee Theater at Union South.

The Wisconsin Union Directorate Film Committee’s 4th annual mini indie film festival celebrates the best of recent independent and foreign cinema. The Festival, which is the largest one to date, is completely run and organized by UW-Madison undergraduates.

With 14 feature films and 2 special programs, the festival is larger and offers more variety than ever before. The Festival lineup features new independent documentaries and narratives making their Madison premieres, as well as recently released films that have not yet screened on campus. One film will receive its Midwest premier: Teddy Bear, a Danish drama about a bodybuilder looking for love in Thailand, which just screened at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.

Wisconsin premieres include: The Invisible War, Kirby Dick’s (This Film Is Not Yet Rated) critically acclaimed expose about the epidemic of rape in the US Military; Indie Game: The Movie, a compelling documentary about the independent gaming industry. The full lineup features films from eight countries, and includes narrative features, documentaries, comedies, student shorts, avant-garde films, dramas, romance, and horror; there really is something for everyone.

All screenings take place in the Marquee at Union South, and are free on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the screening.
